If you could buy any company you wanted, what company would you buy? How would you get started? What type of business models would you consider or reject? How many companies would you research? I know of a gentleman who faced such a quandary. His family had built several billion dollar businesses, yes, that is billion with a "B".
First Consider Find something you like to do. Make it something that is fun to you. Do you enjoy helping others? Are you committed to making the environment cleaner? Is this something you would do even if you weren't getting paid? Think outside of the box and open your mind up to new possibilities. 2. Second Consider Do you want to be the worker or the boss? We have been taught all of our lives to work hard and get a good education so we can get a good job. Is it better to earn money or to make money? If your income depends on someone else paying you for your labor, is that security? Can they afford to pay you more than you are worth, i.e., don't they have to make a profit on your labor? I know of a gentleman in such a situation. He considered many types of business and when he picked a business model he liked he started his research. He researched hundreds of companies, many you probably know. He narrowed his selection down to one and bought it for over $20 million of his own money. His intention is to make it a global marketing company earning up to 5 billion dollars per year. Often you are presented with a ground floor opportunity, but it is better if the company has 50 years of experience behind them and is on the verge of a growth explosion.
